A dermatologist’s approach to scars
Not all scars are the same. Rolling scars are tethered under the skin, boxcar scars have sharp edges, and ice-pick scars are narrow and deep. There may also be flat marks (red or brown) that aren’t true scars at all. The first step is a precise diagnosis.
How it works
Depending on your scars, your plan may combine Dermapen microneedling, subcision (releasing tethered scars), chemical peels, skin boosters or filler for deeper depressions. Treatments are spaced so your skin has time to rebuild collagen between sessions. We track progress with photos.
Aftercare
- Protect the skin from the sun (SPF 50) throughout treatment.
- Keep active acne under control. New breakouts mean new scars.
- Follow the specific aftercare for each technique used.
