What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel applies a controlled solution (such as glycolic, salicylic, lactic, mandelic or TCA acid) to exfoliate the outer layers of skin. This speeds up cell renewal, unclogs pores and fades pigmentation, leaving skin smoother and more even.
How it works
Your skin is cleansed and prepared, then the peel is applied for a precise amount of time and neutralised or removed. For pigmentation-prone skin, Dr. Arwa may prescribe a skin-preparation routine for 2–4 weeks beforehand. This makes results safer and more predictable.
Aftercare
- Don't pick or peel flaking skin.
- Use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser only for 5 days.
- SPF 50 every day, reapplied outdoors. Essential in the UAE sun.
- Pause retinoids and exfoliating acids for one week.
Results vary from person to person. A medical consultation is required to confirm suitability.
